This hands-on, interactive program will use live animals to share the world of insects, spiders and their kin. The program will include many animals that were captured here in West Michigan. Participants will learn about the parts of a bug and how they survive through predation, camouflage and habitat preferences. An optional outdoor component can be included in the program where ODC staff will also go outside with participants on a “Bug Hunt” using tools such as nets, magnifiers and collection cages to explore.
