Reminiscent of years gone by, this special night celebrates Sinterklaas, the benevolent St. Nicholas. In true Dutch folk tradition, Sinterklaas arrives each December on his great white horse, surrounded by his mischievous Zwarte Piet helpers.

The procession begins at the Holland Area Arts Council following a brief appearance by Sinterklaas and continues down 8th Street until it reaches the Eighth Street Market Place. There, the Mayor will officially “welkom” Sinterklaas to Holland. Afterwards, Sinterklaas will be on hand to individually greet children and be photographed by friends and family.
