Did you know that Michigan has almost 21,000 acres of blueberries across 600 farms? Because of the proximity to Lake Michigan, and the land's natural acidic and sandy soil the southwest area has the perfect environment for growing blueberries. Blueberry season in Michigan usually runs July through September and sometimes longer. Many farms offer u-pick which is a great hands on way to experience some farm fun!
