The world- famous Tulip Time Festival kicks off on the first Friday of May each year. The celebration continues through the following weekend, ending nine days later on the following Sunday. The festival isn't held in one location, it is celebrated at various locations around town.
Where can I get tickets?
Ticketed events and Dutch Attractions have admission fees varying per event and attraction. We recommend visiting Tuliptime.com for tickets associated with festival tours, or entertainment. If you aren't the ticketed event type, there are plenty of tulips to view at not cost at various public parks around town. For more information, visit the Tulip Time website.

There are plenty of unique and charming options for shopping and dining in downtown Holland, Michigan. Stroll down 8th St. and discover some of your new favorite stores! Sunday's are quiet in Downtown Holland, MI. As a community, we value a "rest and reset" mentality. A large portion of our downtown merchants are locally owned and operated, each having individual hours of operation - it's what makes our downtown so unique! A number of downtown Holland shops and restaurants are open on Sundays, but if you are planing to visit during a weekend, we recommend planning Saturday as your shopping day.

What Airport do I Fly Into?
The closest airport is the Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Airport is an approximate 40 minute drive from Holland.

I-196 West to Holland. Exit #55 (Zeeland/Holland) and go west.
- To reach downtown, follow Chicago Dr. west until it becomes 8th St.; the Convention and Visitors Bureau is at 78 E. 8th St.
From Detroit and Lansing
- I-96 West
- Exit 46 to M-6 West (“To Holland”)
- M-6 ends at I-196; take I-196 west (“To Holland”)
- Exit #55 (Zeeland/Holland) and go west
- To reach downtown, follow Chicago Dr. west until it becomes 8th St.; the Convention and Visitors Bureau is at 78 E. 8th St.
From Chicago or Northwest Indiana
- I-94 East
- Exit 34 to I-196
- Exit 44 “Holland”
- Exit 47B “Downtown Holland.” This will put you on Washington Ave.
- At 32nd St., Washington Av. becomes Michigan Ave. At 19th Street, Michigan Ave. becomes River Ave.
- For the Convention and Visitors Bureau, turn right onto 9th St. to College Ave. Turn left into the parking lot on the corner of 9th St. and College Ave. You can enter our offices through the backdoor off this parking lot – look for the “Visitor Information” sign.
From Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, and Southeast Michigan
- I-94 West
- Exit 74B to US 131 North Exit 77 to M-6 West
- I-196 West (“To Holland”).
- Exit #55 (Zeeland/Holland) and go west.
- To reach downtown, follow Chicago Dr. west until it becomes 8th St. The Convention and Visitors Bureau is at 78 E. 8th St.
